lists make me happy

and so does baking cookies. Therefore, it is with great joy that I have been able to combine two of my favorite activities into this week's Project Play assignment. I added an item to the Remember the Milk Project Play sandbox reminding myself to bake Valentine cookies*. If I thought that last semester's pbwiki discovery opened new doors, whoa, Nelly! Remember the Milk is way better. I can combine my RTM lists with my Google Calendar, I can add new items to the list with my phone, and I am exploring the possibility of getting phone reminders sent to myself from Jott. It's almost too much. How much listy goodness can one person take? (I stole that phrase from a MADreads review by SC; I think that it is genius, and so is she.)

I am also very pleased that I took my hubby up on his Gmail invitation back in the day (I don't think invitations are necessary anymore). I never used my account regularly for email (I really like Yahoo!), but many of the assignments for Project Play are compatible with Google, so I don't have to create new logins and passwords, I can just use my Google account. HANDY. What would I do without Google?

I guess that about covers it for this week.

Until we meet again: play more, learn more, fear less and always remember the milk with ooh la la, online lists.

*I don't make traditional frosted Valentine cookies, though, I make heart shaped spritz. I am in love with my spritz gun and I am in love with butter, so I have been shooting out little pink hearts, little green trees, little orange pumpkins and all manner of buttery little gems sprinkled with colored sugars and holiday themes instead of messing around with cookie cutters.

what's up, doc?

my pimped pic!I had not used Google Docs before, but am a big fan of Basecamp, so I am familiar with the concept. So smart! And handy!

The garden slide show editing was a little clunky; it took a long time and an error message would show up every time I tried to add a graphic that said it was taking too long to respond. I did finally add a slide, but holy smokes, it took forever. My slide was a little stretch on the garden theme - the fruits of the garden as they relate to strawberry pie and coffee! And I did enjoy the various furry pests who had also invaded the garden! Esp. Love That Dog Barney raking. That pooch is too much.

Here is a slide show that I added to my Google Docs account. I can't vouch for if anyone can edit it or not yet, as I haven't fully explored those options, but I will keep at it.

Until next week, play more, learn more, fear less. And watch out for bunnies driving pink convertibles in the garden. They will definitely wreck havoc on the produce.

and now, happy 2008.

WYSIWYG w/this NOOB hoping to get AFK ASAP. But it's never easy, is it? I activated my yahoo messenger account and created a meebo account and have been practicing my IM skills with Veronica this morning (and added a fancy Duran Duran skin to my meebo page - yeah!), and now I have a cool meebo me widget installed in its alpha order on my blog sidebar, but the thing won't work! I copied the code that meebo has for me to use, and now I am wondering if it is a shockwave problem.

After experimenting a little, meebo is definitely the way to go. I am tired of downloading yet more software and meebo lets anyone IM me - whether on Yahoo, or MSN or wherever, which is cool. And would come in very handy when working reference. I like that you can change the font, the colors, and of course, the emoticons. There is even an adorable panda! I will continue practicing and maybe when we get to the myspace/facebook lesson, I will learn how to add IM to a myspace page and my 17-yr-old niece will finally add me to her 'friends' - I am currently too lame.

So for now, play more, learn more, fear less and meebo me, pinkyonem, ok?
